Reflecting

Some good news has been shared with me this week! I have been nominated to attend the President's Club event next March in Puerto Rico! It is a fabulous series of days that our company provides annually for those who have excelled in production!

That being said, I would not be involved otherwise, since I am not a loan officer and do not handle production (loans) but also annually staff members who have excelled in other areas are nominated! I am not sure what Joe has written about me or my work or what he feels would be the reason for me to be chosen from our area, but he did ask me on Monday if Gary and I would consider going if I was chosen! It was a very nice offer and I accepted.

In reading how it all comes together, I see only 1 person is selected from each Region, which is a large area, consisting of many states. I would assume there are several other persons who also have been chosen and their names and qualifications have been sent in to the Regional President, who is the one making the decision. I have only met him once, and he really is not familiar with me at all, so we will see how it all plays out.

Still and all, I am thrilled for the opportunity that may await me, and if chosen, it would fall over Gary's 70th birthday, which would be wonderful! The photos of the Resort and Puerto Rico are breaktaking, the clear blue ocean and the lush green grass on the island...

If someone else is selected, I will be happy for them. It will be a great vacation away for someone in March of 2008!

Now onwards to another busy day. It has been a difficult week at work and there is a lot of stress this week, so I daily go in and hope more positive things can begin happening there again. I am working at this time with too many unhappy people and it is stressful for me when that happens too.

Holiday Notes...

Our annual holiday notes began arriving yesterday! I cannot say enough of how much these notes mean to me and to Gary. We so enjoy hearing what families are involved in, where they have traveled this past year and when photos are added, it really brings the whole family to us. We both read the note and studied the photos and chatted about past years with these friends.

These are friends from Iowa. Now, we moved away from Iowa in 1976, but fortunately, we have been blessed with a continued friendship with several friends from there to this day. We write and call and see one another either in AZ or IA, depending on who is traveling. This couple will be here already before Christmas, so they come early and generally stay until March. It will be fun sharing time with them again.

Now, to wait for following notes from others...it is such a fun time of the year, sharing happiness with one another!!

I so love keeping in touch with people. I enjoy hearing from them and hope they enjoy our notes as well when we contact them. Friends have been an important part of my life and of Gary's too, and have been there to laugh with us, cry with us and just be there for us through many occasions. Doug sure showed me how to enjoy friends, as he was surrounded by many!!!

My dearest friend, Jeanette, was just here recently. Now, for over 50 years, we have been best friends. We stood up for one another at our weddings, she had baby boys, I had baby girls, and we so enjoyed sharing lifes various routines, special occasions, etc. with one another. She is one of the happiest people I have ever met, and creates happiness around her wherever she is at that time. I prefer to surround myself with positive people and she definitely is one of them.
She really is a true friend and I am thankful for her!!

It is another busy day ahead for me. I am glad I have energy to go and handle what is ahead and hope it is a good day for everyone!!!

Time to Blog...

Welcome to my very first "blog" from Arizona! Just returned from a wonderful weekend in Anaheim, CA with 3 marvelous grandsons!! Wow, 3 grandsons in CA and a grandson and granddaughter in Mass.!! We have many blessings to be thankful for, and they are at the top of the list, for sure!

Thanksgiving gave each of us a time to spend some quiet time remembering what we are most thankful for and we have many in our home. Gratitude is a feeling that fills me more with each day I am on this earth!

Thanks be to Him who watches over us daily, protects us, surrounds us with constant love and teaches us to be more like Him daily. We send Him our loving thanks and send loving wishes to family and friends, who are our special blessings.

Have a wonderful and special day! Every day has a good reason for being here!
